PLAYMOBIL Take Along Soccer Match {Review and Giveaway}

This summer has brought a new dynamic to our family as both Danica and Kurtis started playing soccer.? My husband Kyle and I never played soccer growing up and are new to the rules of the game.? It has been interesting to encourage our children in a sport we know very little about. (They didn?t know what soccer was before this summer).? Now to encourage that learning at home we have the new PLAYMOBIL Take Along Soccer Match ($59.99).

Danica and Kurtis love playing with the compact 22 x 33 inch field.? The game comes with 6 players (four on the field and two goalie figures connected to joysticks that move from side to side and can twist to a laying position).? One of their favorite things was that in initial set up the kids were able to choose numbers (stickers included) to put on their players shirts which was very fun for Danica to match to her actual soccer jersey number.? The players measure about 3 inches high and have one movable leg to kick the ball.

The set comes with 2 adorable and realistic looking soccer balls that Kurtis loves to play with.? Kurtis (my little imagination guy) loved the figures and immediately named them and had story lines to go with each of them.? Danica on the other hand is Little Ms. Competitive and was all about kicking goals and winning the game.

I love how this all folds up so easily into a compact and portable game with all pieces fitting easily inside.? Space is at a premium in our house and we should have no problem finding space for this one as it is only about 3 inches thick when folded.

The game did not come with actual instructions in the package, but there are game instructions available at play.playmobil.com.? My kids didn?t actually care about the rules, they just enjoyed playing with the figures and trying to kick goals, but I can imagine older players might be more interested in the rules.

Actual game play (not Kurt?s imaginative version) is for 2-6 players and is recommended for children ages 5-10 years.
