More than 60 exhibit booths geared toward elderly health needs filled the courtyard near the trolley stop and many seniors took advantage of the event. Attendees were able to get free health screenings for stroke, blood pressure, blood glucose/diabetes and video otoscope.
Information was on hand about senior housing, home care services, home safety, fall prevention, health education, advance directives, nutrition and volunteer opportunities. A pharmacist was also on hand to review medication lists for adverse drug interactions.
East County Senior Services Providers, a coalition of community organizations and agencies serving seniors in the East County, organized the event.
